Re: I think Wall Street just got more of the same, and was not happy.

not happy...with AMD.

The show appeared to have all of the old Intel Bravado, all of the bizarre promises of future breakthroughs, (5 years away), and nothing close to a cohesive road map.

Intel roadmaps are everywhere. We don't even know what quarter AMD will bring quad-core to the standard desktop AM2 socket...or dual-core revision H for that matter.

Intel has not addressed the Front side bus issue. IMO, that is a huge mistake. A promise that Xeon will get an On Chip memory controller in 2009, and Itanium gets it a year earlier has to prove that the guy at the wheel doesn't know how to drive, or where to go.

At least it gives AMD room to breathe in servers. When does AMD sell a dual-core desktop CPU faster than the current X6800 which launched a couple months ago? Q3 07? Q4 07? Q1 08? When will AMD mobile CPUs outperform Intel's?

The glue job on the 2 Chip Quad is nothing to brag about, but then to insult their customers with the, "they won't know the difference" remark is over the top, and deserving of a pink slip.

If rev. H with the advantages of SOI and integrated memory controller doesn't substantially outperform Intel's best desktop and notebook offerings, who in AMD deserves a pink slip in your opinion? Who in AMD deserves a pink slip now for not having rev. H and quad-core available this year?
