Yes that is one opinion, the opinion of those who will profit from lack of diversity and patenting of life forms. They see nothing wrong with the greed behind ideas like the terminator seed. They feel themselves entitled to their pound of flesh from every human endeavor, even if it means some or many will starve to death in the process.

Concentration of power is at the root of all evil and these technologies will be used to further concentrate power unless they are opposed by those with conscience.
