Well, MauriceQ, I agree with you again, sorta...alert the media. The AMA, which protects lousy docs (much like the Catholic Church, the police and the Republican Party which also protect their miscreants) should be held liable for the incompetence and outright negligence of those it protects. If it doesn't want to be held liable, it shouldn't have the power it has. I think it's quite amazing that those who have the most power take the least responsibility for their actions. Institutions and organizations and companies are simply TOO BIG for the human species. We would be better off if we had smaller groups (I think 150 is the magic number) with less power over individuals. I give the human species a few more decades before it just implodes from the sheer weight of corruption, violence and incompetence. I'm just a tad bit more cynical this week than usual. :)
