I am not sure when the bad news will end. Corel said to expect lower earnings in Q4, furthermore, they just announced selling off some of their product lines...

Be prepared for minor layoffs, Corel losing some shelf space, and (possibly) renegotiating disty agreements. If I was a programmer working at Corel, then I would also be a target for recruiters at competing firms...

The NC, NetPC/Java marketplace is a high risk/low reward for software developers. I haven't researched the downside should they write off all of this. I also don't intend to waste my time doing so.

For these reasons, I am NOT going to invest in Corel at this time. I don't want to make their problems my problems. There are better places to put my money.

If you are already a stock holder, I would certainly do some serious research with the members of this thread to try to figure this all out. RESEARCH is the way you figure out if the stock is going to continue a downward (or upward) trend. Call investor relations and ask them about layoffs, distributor relationships, shelf space, etc...

Luckily for me, I don't have to do further research in Corel. I don't care what happens to the company, as I am not part owner.

Good luck to you.
David
