Thanks duedilly for the article on Samsung.

The most important part was the last paragraph. For all the naysayers thinking HDDs will be replaced by flash....here it from the horse's mouth.

The really curious thing about Samsung is that they can or could be the top producer in most of the areas they focus on. And they can be profitable. But the HDD division is an exception. As they currently have it, they will probably never be better than a 4th or 5th player (depending upon who gets bought out next). And given such low volumes, it's difficult to see them making money, especially if they have to invest in new R&D to stay up with STX & WDC.
