“We have solved the July 11 bombings case. The whole attack was planned by Pakistan’s ISI and carried out by Lashkar-e-Taiba and their operatives in India,” A N Roy, Mumbai’s police chief, told a news conference.

Assuming the Indian security sevices have actually obtained such solid evidence, it would only confirm my belief that the ISI leadership is still held "captive" by the deobandist factions within Pakistan.

I don't envy the challenge that the Pakistani people (the moderate ones) face in dealing with subversive element in their society.

And the risk of an ISI affiliated terrorist attack might just cause Pakistan to become involved in a catatropic war with India.

Btw Iqbal, there's no doubt that Pakistan's military has been helpful in fighting Al Qai'da and the Taliban.. But to reaffirm my point, I'm getting the sense that their military is pulling back and this causes me to wonder whether the folks in the ISI are getting the upper hand within the government power circles.
