I listened to a sermon this morning from Dr John MacArthur. He was discussing about "fairness."

We want to apply our standards to what is fair and, as Christians, we often err in our thinking about what is fair in relation to getting into heaven. We simply cannot know God's mind and what his plans are for us. MacArthur went so far as to state that when we make a judgement about what is fair in reference to who should or will get into heaven, he said we are guilty of Pride, because we are applying man's measure of fairness to a standard set by and only understood by God.

Go to gty.org and listen to today's program. It's applicable to today's discussion here. Don't be put off by the intro, the sermon is actually about election and predestination, but the discussion on fairness is very applicable to this discussion.
