Good news re Zambia election, First Quantum up $5, Equinox up 20c. Plus copper up 5c lb

The Partriotic Front has moved into second spot, relegating the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) into third position in results of Thursday Tripatite Elections.

Incumbent President Levy Mwanawasa is still holding the fort, leading with 1065732, according to the latest results released by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) this morning.

PF's Michael Sata has marshaled 686,642 votes,
At number three is Hakainde Hichilema's UDA with 668,396 votes.

Sata has been leading from the start and his party has scooped most of the parliamentary seats in major towns.

Heritage party's Brig. Gen. Godfrey Miyanda is fourth with 38123 votes and Ken Ngondo of the All People's Congress Party's has 18,736 votes.
