That's a Socialist (& incorrect) viewpoint, Peter. Private investors recognize pricing disparities in the public markets --- and recognize government attempts to manipulate their currencies to artificially determined, government desired valuations --- and these Capitalist actors in the free markets exert an aggregate influence upon these governments: They make it COSTLY for the governments to stick with their manipulation schemes... and they restore Capitalist economic conditions, over the Big Government Statist Socialism that governments uniformly seem to try to create.
