Dear Mr. President,
presidentofpakistan.gov.pk

None of you should remain in a place where a man is being killed unjustly, for the curse (of Allah) descends on anyone who was present and did not defend him.
(REPORTED BY AL-TABARANI AND BY AL-BAYHAQI)

Life is a precious gift of God. A young British man is languishing in a Pakistani jail for last 18 years for a crime that he has been falsely convicted for is a grave travesty of justice.

A young man when he was charged is now a middle aged frail man caught in a muddle of judicial systems, one medieval the other modern that do not seem to be compatible. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "To let nine criminals go free is preferable to convicting one innocent man."

He has suffered immensely so does has his family. It is important that in light of weak case and an unfair trail accorded to him he should be given a reprieve from the death sentence that seems to be imminent any time. Saving a life of an innocent is equivalent to saving the whole mankind. I request you to please kindly intervene and appeal for remission of his imminent death sentence.

Amnesty International, alongside other leading human rights organizations, believes that this man was subjected to an unfair trial and that his conviction is unsafe.

Sincerely,

Iqbal
