Ichy, which would you say is worse, lying to avoid being exposed as an adulterer, which would perhaps be embarrassing in relations with wife and daughter [I doubt that he could care less whether you knew or not and might even be pleased about being known as a great stud], or lying about the desperate need to invade Iraq to stop nuclear bombs going off in New York and chemical bomb rockets being launched with 45 minutes notice, which was not a victimless bunch of lies.

There are corpses all over the place. Right now there are probably USA corpses being flown back to the USA since there seems to be about 1000 a year being killed right now. Not to mention the maimed. Nor the swarms of Iraqi victims.

In one lie, a wife and daughter were deceived and a blue dress nuked. It was just prurient interest for other Americans to get steamed up about the sex [I think Republicans were mainly envious - they certainly don't seem to have been particularly chaste themselves]. In the other lies, the consequences have been enormous and fatal for swarms of actual humans who made a lot more mess on the ground than Bill did on a dress.

Yes, yes, I know. Bill's "crime" was to lie to a Grand Jury or some such legal entity. Big deal. He lied about infidelity. What a surprise. Martha Stewart made a similar mistake. Scared of being caught for a non-offence, she foolishly tried to avoid the embarrassment by "obstructing justice" or whatever the charge was. Yawn... If those are significant problems the USA has to deal with, they are very very lucky. It certainly is better than living in Darfur. Or even Baghdad, with all the forces of civilization and democracy making it safe for Freedom.
