I've have lived in NH and Maine. Both those states are covered with trees that are third generation growth from those cut down to make ships. That was all done when we just had axes to cut down trees.

I've lived in California too. That has the Redwood highway, only there isn't a redwood to be seen. The strip mining of redwoods is an issue because the old growth trees are thousands of years old.

Landfill by waste is an issue in the USA. Recycling is one of the few ways of tackling it.

You are going to have to allocate a significant percentage of the earths remaining methane hydrate to ship all that waste up to Canada, providing they will take it of course.

.... and providing you aren't going to warm up the Earth with generating greenhouse gases either.

Something to think about while waiting for the 'ol gas tank to fill up.-g-
