Partnership to Improve Quality of Care and Enhance Preventive Measures by Delivering Educational Tools to Case Managers and CDH Members

PHOENIX & ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--QCSI® (Quality Care Solutions, Inc.), a leading provider of advanced information technology and enterprise application software and services for health insurers and benefits administrators, announced today it has entered into a strategic partnership with A.D.A.M., Inc. (Nasdaq: ADAM), which will provide health content and decision-support tools for QCSI's innovative QNXT Case Management module and MyHealthBank suite of solutions for Consumer-Directed Healthcare (CDH) plans. This strategic partnership will give QCSI's customers access to dynamic, customized content for at-risk plan members and add one of the largest medical libraries in the world to its current industry-leading solutions.

With the planned integration of A.D.A.M.'s advanced health education products, QNXT Case Management will support population-based disease management through its ability to push personalized health and wellness information to members. Information will also be embedded in the application to help case managers educate members about their health and coordinate appropriate services.

The partnership with A.D.A.M. also will benefit users of QCSI's MyHealthBank CDH portal. Members will be able to manage their medical benefits, cash accounts, and make smart healthcare decisions by accessing the rich tool and information set provided by A.D.A.M. Payors and employers will be able to tie the MyHealthBank cash account incentives to the A.D.A.M. Health Risk Assessment to reward members for healthy behaviors.

Dave Engert, President and CEO of QCSI, said, "The number of people choosing CDH Plans is increasing rapidly, so payors are looking for CDH solutions that give members the appropriate tools to easily and effectively manage their own healthcare. A.D.A.M.'s engaging educational tools will complement QCSI's MyHealthBank suite and QNXT Case Management, allowing users to take charge of the healthcare decision-making process."

"Better-informed consumers lead to better relationships with providers, reduced medical errors, more efficient use of resources, and healthier outcomes. These are all key pieces to helping payors lower healthcare costs while improving the overall quality of care," said Kevin Noland, A.D.A.M.'s President and CEO. "The integration of our comprehensive health and wellness suite with QCSI's industry-leading products will deliver interactive tools that promote smarter healthcare decisions and empower CDH consumers to take greater control of their health and care management."

QNXT Case Management provides robust care management functionality across the continuum of care. It allows case managers to immediately identify potential at-risk cases and provides real-time access to the most current Benefits, Claims and Medical Management data. With flexible workflows and stratified queuing, QNXT Case Management is fully configurable, allowing plans to create Assessments and Events based on their plan membership and unique processes.

The MyHealthBank suite of CDH applications gives users solid footing to build efficiencies into their business processes today, realizing results in a matter of weeks. The MyHealthBank suite includes three independent, interlocking components -- Direct, Transact, and Finance -- that provide a Web-based, self-service portal for cash account management, enrollment, comparison shopping and decision support.
