Who sat on the story? ABC? Tom Reynolds's chief of staff tried to bottle it up, but ABC refused to make a deal.

I think that's actually changed, but I'm not sure what happened here. The page probably saved the conversation -- it's very easy to do. I've used AIM since I was about 15, and often save conversations that are "interesting." Several of my friends do the same thing; I think it's pretty common. And sexual banter with a member of Congress certainly would qualify as "interesting."
