EADS promises Airbus reform after another superjumbo delay · Airlines told to wait another year for A380 · Board pledges to cut costs and increase productivity David Gow in Brussels - Wednesday October 4, 2006 - The Guardian The crisis at EADS intensified yesterday when its board and key airlines said deliveries of the Airbus A380 superjumbo would be delayed for up to another year, further damaging the plane-maker's credibility. The world's biggest plane is now two years behind schedule. EADS shares tumbled more than 11% this morning when trading opened in Paris but later recovered a little to €20.79, still down more than 8%. Senior executives admitted that the fresh delays would hit earnings by an extra €2.8bn (£1.9bn) between 2007 and 2010 - on top of the €2bn loss in profits already announced in mid-June, a warning that brought about a 26% collapse in EADS shares in one day.
