I came very close to buying a bike last summer.

I did too.

Sweet Shirley wanted nothing to do with that idea,

So did my wife.

so I abandoned it.

A guy I know who owns the biggest Harley dealership in my state said to me, "It's always easier to ask forgiveness than permission."

Probably wise. When I was 18 I spent a week in the hospital after a wreck on one.

I never wrecked. Nowadays they offer motorcycle safety training courses. Highly recommended.

Sure fun toys, though.

Yup. This is the one I gave myself for Father's Day. Went on a 450 mile ride two weekends ago, as the Moose will attest to.

When I bought it, the wife was on a hot burn for two hours, slow burn for the rest of the night. Next day, she said, "you deserve it."
