Agreed. But could have and would have are two very different things.

Perhaps but we will never know. What we can do is ask our representatives to quit pussy footing around and lay their ideas out on the table for us to get around.

The repub approach has been to create a magnet front to draw out the enemy and meet them on a battle field of our terms. The dem strategy is to go to where they are and deal with them on a different format.

We have seen what the repub admin meant by their stategy, we haven't seen the dem operation. Personally, I could use some more operationalized clarity on what the dems are proposing, prior to either endorsing or rejecting it.
