i was impressed as well: it was in good part to see if he did, that i made the call to begin with.
and apart from the specifics, his tone was confident, if subdued. the confidence was apparent in his complete lack of hedging, if you will...something he might agree the street has conspicuosly NOT avoided.
but the fact is, he really didn't have too much to say; he explained that he was standing behind all the fundamentals, as he has repeatedly done. and that because of the "quiet period" he was reluctant to say much about earnings: he DID say that beyond a legal obligation to do so, they would have advised if the numbers were to be different than expected.
his is a soft spoken, and sincere manner: he said when i voiced collective investor concerns, incredulity at the actions of the analysts, competing interests seemingly at odds with forward movement, and general disbelief at the manner of MS action, and its severity...that his heart "resonated" with these sentiments. he went on to say he was unclear about how to combat these things other than by making lasers and shipping product, and he agreed that the larger picture seems to be continually undermined by hollow rumor.
he seemed to sincerely appreciate the support i mentioned as shown by this thread...and i described to him the other elements revealed here. he was easy to speak with and thoroughly responsive; he avoided anything that could remotely be described as evasive. he left me with a sense that they were dismayed, but that they would simply focus on their strengths...and we all know what they are.
he did say he had a bunch of messages... |
