well, now that Foley has come out of his closet, resigned, and gone into rehab, and since his crimes seem to be having a dirty mind and writing dirty notes to 17 year old young men, I am kind of at a loss to see what he did that isn't within the law. If he didn't break the law, and the age of consent in DC is 16, I have to wonder at what happens next. Since I have seen things on TV that were both written and spoken saying that Foley had molested children on the internet, what happens if these ads are proven wrong?

I am asking simply as a theoretical exercise, but if the White House pushed for a fast investigation, and could prove that Foley was a fool but not a molester by say months end? What kind of spin would the Republicans put on that?

Now of course the investigation could prove he was preying on 17 year old boys, but that is the same thing Studds did. The Democrats did nothing to Studds, and gradually attitudes have changed. So I wonder whose throat this fiasco cuts?
