Intel's 2 dual Cores is a marketing chip, not an engineering chip. We all know why, "the customers won't know the difference." I don't belive that's true. I think any customer considering the Kentsfield would be savvy enough to know the difference. A marketing guy wouldn't, but an engineer would.

How does this factor into Intel's future. A marketing guy with a long range plan would say, this doesn't look like a product that we want our name on. It makes us look like Hobo's. We have a great Company, and nothing goes out the door that ruins the reputation we have for being the best, and selling the best.

But it will take an extra 6 months to make a true Quad Core, and we want to be first, don't we. At Intel they say, "yes, dam right we want to be first." At AMD, they say, "no, we're better than that."

It really should be the Engineers that run that company. Kentsfield is an embarrassment. When the smart customers see this kind of an operation, they look at the company, and think about the deception that was played on them. They will resent being taken for for a fool.

I don't know how much money Intel plans on making with Kentsfield, but it's not enough to justify the that kind of a hit to their reputation. IMO, they look foolish doing this, it's the main reason I don't trust them, and don't like their company.

IMO, and I have said this before, Intel needs a make over. They need to redo their image. We observe the recent stories about the EU preparing charges, we saw this happen in Japan already, and Korea is looking at it. Once again, without getting into the merits of the case, look at the image being created around the world.

If there was no merit to AMD's lawsuit, none whatsoever, it wouldn't matter. Intel with their own shady marketing gimmicks, and, and with the series Monopoly Issues floated in front of the all World's Media Outlets, they are creating an image of ugliness, and AMD is exploiting it the fullest.

Kentsfield is just one meaningless battle, but K8L is going to be a lot more. When it is released, the folks that bought Kentsfield, will notice the difference, and unless they are stupid as Otellini thinks, they're going to resent being screwed.
