Mike, PC mag had an article last year about Cyrix 6x86 in which
they stated that they will sell every chip they can produce. They
sold me a 6x86 below cost... They also has a second very positive
article about Cyrix products and profits about two months before the
stock took a nose dive to low teens. I wonder if it should be added
to Business Week as a contrerian indicator.

I have fe questions:

1) We agree that NT will not save the chip industry any time soon
with 800K in units sales projected by Microsoft, but what about
replacing Unix. When would you start turning bearish about all
major UNIX plays?

2) How was it like during the '84 - '86 Semi down cycle as far as
when did the bubble burst, when was the bottom, what was the
general mood during those years about investing in chip companies,
Was it clear that the bottom has been reached. Some one was saying
that AMAT bottomed in late '86 (at a price on 1 spli adjusted), did
the chip makers start recovering first?

3) Why do you call NT - No Tasks ?
NT is the first true multi-tasking operating system that came out
of Microsoft.
