Iraq is now in charge of all military operations in Iraq. As we reduce the overall size of our troops, we will be more in a support position long term. Overall, I think the moderates need to lead the way to clean out the bad guys on their own soil. Given their lack of Western inhibition for violence, they may now be in a position to scare the shit out of the radicals. Recent comments by the Sunnis suggest they want the US to keep the shiite police from attacking them.
