Deep Blue Marine Announces Silver Coin and Gold Artifact
Thursday October 5, 4:18 pm ET

KEY WEST, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mr. Wilf Blum, President and CEO of Deep Blue Marine Inc. (Pink Sheets: DPBM - News), announces the discovery and preliminary analysis of two additional artifacts associated with the seventeenth century anchor and cannon balls previously located near the Woman Key site in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Deep Blue Marine is working in partnership with Kenneth Rose of the Kirby Group that holds Survey and Inventory Permits issued by the FKNMS.

Both objects were encrusted to varying degrees. It has been determined that the first artifact is a silver coin; the coin is presently undergoing conservation and the numismatic analysis is expected to be available on Monday, October 9, 2006. A preliminary analysis of the second artifact leads to the preliminary opinion that the object is a metal hinge from a chest or perhaps a large folio book, common during the colonial period in the Americas. Adhering to one end of the artifact is a raindrop-shaped yellow material that has undergone analysis. The yellow material has been determined through this analysis to be gold. Photos will be posted on the company blog at their website, www.alldeepblue.com/inthedeep, when they become available.
