One time I was sleeping in my sleeping bag under the porch of the ruins of an old cabin with a buddy.

I awoke to something tugging on the foot of my bag. I gave it a kick, but the tugging continued, so I got my flashlight.

It was a porcupine.

I had my .44 in my pack, which I took out and shot the porcupine in the dark.

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. I was just glad that the critter picked the foot of my bag instead of the other end.
