As of today's polls, Dems take back the Senate. realclearpolitics.com Lincoln Chaffee is now behind by 10% which was not expected, and Ford, McCaskill and Webb all have good chances which could mean the Dems pick up as many as 8-9 seats. Bush is at 38% approvals in today's poll, and sinking. What makes it especially bad for the GOP is that the issues they planned to run on have pretty much been decimated, those being "Bush is strong against terrorists" and "party of values". Just mud-slinging against democrats and trying to demonize Pelosi and Murtha won't work.
