No, I think China's support for N Korea is more of a historic thing, former commie brothers fighting imperialism, and all that rot. I also suspect that China is getting pretty tired of their little brother's tantrums. China has a pretty strong repatriation program for NK defectors, and many of the repats are executed after their return.

IMO, if there were to be massive refugee flows from NK to China, the Chinese solution would be to put armed patrols along the Yangsee River to prevent them from coming across. They aren't quite as kind and gentle as we are here in the US.
