This is not so very very hard -- there has not been one period in my lifetime in the United States of America where any credible economist would say there was a period of "deflation". We are in an unbroken long term inflationary trend that looks set to get much worse. For anybody bold enough to claim that there is about to be a sea change in direction they had better have one hell of an argument and data to back up their case. So far there has been flimsy logic at best and no data. There is nada -- nothing -- to indicate that deflation has set in or is about to set in -- it would be utterly shocking if there was.
