Isn't that exactly why owners should be looking at the lease/option alternative, and renters should be trying to work deals where all their rent money doesn't go down the tubes? Doesn't work for everyone, but it can work for quite a few. I suspect we'll see a lot more sellers trying to offer this arrangement.
