Indeed it does! We all go back to those times, don't we.

That cousin I mentioned took the time to get all of her many years of detail gathering put into a book. It's the thickness of a good sized city telephone book. It is absolutely fascinating and, although I've been through it numerous times, I still find myself pulling it out of the drawer and spending much time with it. About 10 years ago, when my own father was 90, she interviewed him. His memory was incredible for those very early times in his life with 7 siblings. I treasure those pages of his recollections. Sadly, when he died nearly 7 years ago, he was diagnosed with chronic dementia and couldn't remember what he ate for breakfast, or that he had just told me the same story 10 minutes earlier.
