Here's a story I was told many, many years ago about my given name; Kenneth. This is a popular name in Scotland and is often spelled Kennith. Somewhere along the trail the "i" got changed to "e". Also along that same trail, the double "nn" got dropped, leaving the name Keith.

All of this was unknown to my wife and me when our son was born. We named him Keith. It was several years later I was told the above story about the names. I really have no idea how much truth there is to any of this.
