My letter to Directv on 10/7/06. I longing think back to my early days with TiVo.... We have been DIRECTV customers continuously since almost the beginning of DIRECTV. We got our first TiVo (Phillips) for DIRECTV a few months after TiVo came out. We purchased our first High Definition TV almost 7 years ago. We purchased the DIRECTV DVR+ H10 model soon after it came out. Yesterday (October 6, 2006), DIRECTV installed a DVR+ HR20 in our home. Now we have used the HR20 for almost 27 hours, and we can state unequivocally that it is a huge leap BACKWARD. The features that we came to rely on with TiVo are not present with your HR20 DVR+. The HR20 is so substandard as to be tragic. As much as I hate the thought of discontinuing DIRECTV and going to cable, it looks as if you are forcing me to do so.
