When it comes to representatives, I want them to be ETHICAL (when it comes to handling the business and finances of the people they represent) and COMPETENT (in their handling of the business and finances of the people they represent).

What they do in their private lives is a gray area and I'd have have to look at it on a case by case basis. Clinton's thing with Monica bothered me because she was an "employee" of the whitehouse and ANY time a superior gets involved with a subordinate (in business or politics) it's "sleazy". Also, in the case of Lewinski, it put in question Clinton's "competence", since he should have been bright enough to know the possible ramifications of his dumb little tryst. If Clinton had had a woman on the side that wasn't in the government, then I couldn't have cared less.

Jimmy Carter was probably the most DECENT and ETHICAL President we ever had, but, those same character traits HURT him when he had to deal with people that weren't so ethical and decent.

I'm more along the lines of Abe Lincoln. When Abe was told that US Grant was a drunk, he said, Well...then find out what he's drinking and send a couple cases of it to our other Generals. (not the exact quote, but it was close)..lol
