Wow, this board continues to amaze me. Thanks for a good and informative answer!

Now, using level 2 seems a good idea for me, since i predominantly am interested in tech-stocks (occupational hazard - I'm a computer consultant). I went to PCQuote to check it out (via your link to daytraders, where I found them mentionned).

It seems that PCQuote is sponsored by Datek - where I have my trading account. Now, Datek's real-time quotes are nice, but for details on your portfolio I personally use Stock Smart (www.stocksmart.com). I have repeatedly sent email to Datek asking them to implement the very little modification necessary to calculate the fields offered by StockSmart, but of course I get no feedback - just like reported on this board.

Another thing that was "unofficially promised" by Datek was real-time streaming quotes, which I really have been looking forward to - but so far in vain. Now I see that PCQuote offers this functionality using push technology - but for a cost.

Now given the fact that Datek is sponsoring PCQuote wouldn't it make a lot of sense if they would allow their customers to use PCQuotes streaming quotes, and perhaps, level 2 service, for free?
