<<That might get the generals to look at regime change>>

... no use, because the generals are also bad apples

<<The other option would be a blitzkrieg attack ... I don't think that's a good option>>

... agreed.

<<The last reasonable option would be to pull together a massive alliance under the UN>>

... bush has lost all credibility with just about all the necessary powers, and so forget this option, since no one would sign on with the program only to see it botched, and leaving the participants to fend for themselves.

<<What we may get is targeted air attacks from the US, most likely non-nuclear. Bombing will need to be repeated several times to cause much damage to deep installations>>

... guaranteed to fail, and most assuredly will invite nasty and possibly decapitating retaliation by n.korea on washington dc, tokyo and possibly even s.korea, for n.korea really does not play according to the rules

whatever the bush and global response, it will be precedent setting for all the wannabe candidates to the nuke club

no power on earth besides the usa can organize a response, and usa cannot easily do so either

recommendation: accumulate gold, and consider burying it in quiet corner of ocean, encased in a bunch of portable cement blocks
