What Bush should have done is continued the push to find those extremist Muslims behind 9/11 and punished or killed them. That was in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Muslims themselves would have understood that.

Starting a distracting war in Iraq for vague reasons hasn't done Western / Muslim relations any good.

I'm no big fan of Muslim culture - as a younger man I spent a month in Egypt and frankly thought the place sucked. The food is terrible, its dirty and dirt poor, the women all run around in Burkahs. Still the fact is we don't have a God given right to impose our way of life on others.

Like I said there are a billion Muslims in the world - trying to fight each and everyone is a ridiculous notion unless you are considering the notions of ethnic cleansing and genocide via nuclear weapons. It looks like they are fighting us to standstill in Iraq and one could argue they are winning. Like it or not we probably need to find ways to co-exist.

So we can cheer every time we hear some Muslim has been blown up in Iraq - but remember our boys are catching it too.

I don't find it surprising that an average Muslim resents the Iraqi war however. Remember we invaded them when the real crooks were thousands of miles away in Afghanistan. The thing is I think Muslims are for the most part quite happy to be Muslim. We are not going to change their ways at the point of a gun – thats what you call counter-productive.
