Our secular position is a disgrace to the whole position on religion. We have encouraged freedom of speech with people's inalienable right to insult other person's religion. We have stripped every mention of God from our society. Last year, they removed the after school reading program after one of the books mentioned God. As Christians, we have no right to insult Islam's prophet. As Muslims, they have no right to threaten conversion with the threat of force. In our current dilemma, we are dealing with a situation where agnostic followers of the Christian faith are attacking the religious virtues of Muslim faith.

A spiritual state is the optimal manifestation of religous respect, where different religions are respected equally. An anti religious state aka secular state is one devoid of religious tolerance. It only protects anti religious tolerance. People shouldn't use their freedom of expression to humiliate other peoples' pov about God.

We need a 4th phase for the evolution of spiritual pluralism, which respects an individuals right to practice their religion. I can see where the Muslims are freaking out, since all the God hating Europeans are making caricatures out of them. They shouldn't be required to have a sense of humor going about their day, any more than a woman has to worry about some guy making sexual comments to her in the work place.

In our secular society, civil rights have won and religious rights have been eliminated. We need to rebalance the scales to that Muslims and other religious minorities, including Chrisians & Jews are not intimidated. I think the lack of leadership from the editors of the Eurotrash newspapers is appalling.
