I am not defending them. I do challenge the idea because they were trying to circumvent the treaty, that absolves Bush of responsibility in this. Period. I agree that NK is a danger, and I don't really know what the solution is. But I do know that setting up a situation where they decided to call Bush's bluff and Bush backed down didn't do anything to defuse the situation. It made it worse. And now they did their first test, which meant their design worked and likely gave them information on making future ones smaller and easier to deliver, doesn't make things better either.
