longnshort...Excellent point. Most people have No idea about Lincoln's trashing of habeas corpus and all that other stuff.

In the post you are responding to I was talking about Lincoln's disinterest in the "personal life" of Grant rather than Lincoln's own handling of executive powers, but if we ever get to discussing Bush's tendency to bypass all judicial oversight in conducting HIS "War on Terror", then YOU will have one of the most CENTRAL insights.
