To imagine in your wildest dreams the earth was designed to meet a certain humanoid comfort level is simply the ramblings of a lunatic.

Since human life began we have attempted to make our place on earth habitable. It is a human habit. Remember that the next time you tweak the the control on your air conditioner.

.... or to quote me some brainless muttering of a fiction writer. I have spent my whole life being an engineer and technologist. I see two types of people, those who create technology, and those who are reliant on it as any slave to it's master. Yes, I've installed A/C and could probably make a working unit from raw materials if stuck in a corner and forced to do it. Perhaps if you realise my POV you can see my contempt for the likes of Ayn Rand.

I suggest we do... what we are best doing. Using our brains to survive.

Just because some less able life forms were not able to survive 5 billion years does not mean we should just "throw in the towel".

It may seem impolitic to mention our "footprint" to survive, but enlightened capitalism is always been ahead of the curve when it comes to dealing with problems. First you have to see that there is a problem though....
