You can IM through Yahoo. I've done it once and didn't ever think of saving them. Cut and paste to an email would seem the only option. If the kids were trying to pull a prank they'd think of that or find some other way to save them. They're soooooooo resourceful. Most IM products (Yahoo, MSN, etc) have an option to save a conversation as a text file. No need to cut and paste.
