"We went down the wrong path."

We were MISLEAD down the wrong path. But, knowing what we know NOW of the chimp Nero, what other result could there have been?

If there's any lesson to be learned from the terms of Bush II, it's that we have to somehow test and get a greater understanding of the people we allow to even attempt to become President. His handlers concealed the real Bush from us in 2000 - I was disappointed, but felt no great alarm at his election. If I'd known more about him, perhaps I would have been alarmed.

Perhaps candidates need to have a full battery of psychological testing prior to being allowed to BE candidates, presented with the results, and informed that if they remain candidates, the results will be published. It seems the LEAST we could do for the most important job in the world.
