The Gore campaign didn't emphasize these things. Kerry did, in 2004.

You know what? These turned out to become assets for him in large segments of the population...sad ain't it?

Gore thought the accomplishments of 8 years of a soaring market, rising wages, peace and prosperity would see him through.

It should have. I recall a conversation with two friends in which I basically said, "if you know nothing else about the man, look back at the last eight years and ask youself why you would mess with prosperity and peace?"
