You're evidently willing to accept the notion of "evangelical Christians" as a "voting bloc" based on what exactly?

The rise of the Christian right has been one of the larger political movements of my lifetime. As I recall, it blossomed with the Moral Majority movement a couple of decades ago. There are many political organizations actively fostering the demographic. I don't see how anyone could have missed the scores of books and the millions of references to it in print and on the TV "news." I just got one of the books from Amazon the other day as part of my free-shipping package triggered by the release of Clay Aiken's new album. <g> The pollsters and political strategists are always talking about the voting block.

Yep, I accept the notion based on inescapable evidence just as surely as i accept the notion of performance enhancing drugs, cable TV, exurbs, the internet, and other phenomena of the late 20th century. It's hard to imagine how you could have missed the phenomenon.
