Jeff, sorry for the delay. I've been here so much "arguing" lately I've been neglecting my work. I think I covered this in a reply to Sidney. Every time individual salvation is mentioned, including being blotted from the book of life, it's "life for the ages" that the individual is excluded from.

The book of life contains names of those who live and reign with Christ "during the ages" or for "times aionian". Not forever.

Those outside the gates of the kingdom of heaven will be changed when Christ subdues all at the end of the ages.

All enmity is ended before Christ subjects Himself to the Father also at the end of the ages. Including those sinners outside the gates. An end will be made to sin. Those sinners outside the gates are only sinners temporarily. They too will be changed by Christ. 1 Cor 15:22-28.

So in summarizing your questions. Those not in the book of life will only be dead as long as death exists. And sinners can only sin as long as sin exists. Both sin and death are temporary. It's the timing that is confusing.

Thanks,

alan w
