BOSTON, Oct. 11, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Beceem Communications (http://www.beceem.com) today announced key product and development relationships that are accelerating trials and deployments of Mobile WiMAX networks around the world. Activities revealed at the WiMAX World USA show include:

-- The launch of China's first Mobile WiMAX solution by ZTE using
Beceem's MS120 chipset and a joint development relationship with
ZTE. ZTE is China's leading global wireless equipment provider and
system integrator.

-- The launch of a low-cost Wireless Broadband modem that is using
Beceem's MS120 chipset. Accton is one of Taiwan's leading ODMs and
the global premier provider of networking and communications
equipment.

-- A live mobility hand-off demonstration between Motorola's WiMAX
infrastructure and a Beceem chipset/PC card, underscoring how well
mobile WiMAX performs when combining broadband speeds with seamless
mobility.

``The number and variety of different product and development relationships Beceem is involved in since launching our Wave 1 chipset in January 2006, demonstrates clearly that Beceem is the leading supplier of terminal chipsets solutions for Mobile WiMAX,'' said Lars Johnsson, vice president of Business Development for Beceem. ``The high performance of our chipset combined with our extensive field experience and key equipment partnerships underscore Beceem's position as the leading provider of Mobile WiMAX chipset solutions.''
