Do you consider Black Christians Evangelicals? I would say that they are a very powerful voting block.

I don't know. I've never known a black evangelical, to the best of my knowledge. Black friends of mine have always been every bit as apparently subdued about their religiosity in my presence as is your basic mainstream white Christian.

Blacks are certainly a voting bloc. Whether or not there are any significant subsets of that such as evangelical Christians or not, I haven't a clue. I don't recall ever having seen the black voting bloc dissected. It's a pretty small voting block, too small to be worth breaking down further. Or there may not be any voting distinction between evangelical Christians and other blacks. Dunno.
