OK, here is Clarke himself on the record - before he decided to try to help Kerry get elected:

This is old news. Clarke testified that he was in office during this interview, just as generals coming forward now to indict rumsfeld could not disparage him while in office. Read Paul O'Neil's the Price of Loyalty and you'll get the idea.
