Not necessarily. I can see McCain getting elected in 2008 and the Repubs regaining control of both houses, even if they lose one or both houses this year.

The Dems need to start presenting a viable alternative if they expect to maintain any of the gains they'll probably make this year.

Just saying, "We ain't those guys", won't make the Dems credible over the long term.

Demographics should favor the Dems in coming years, with the big increase in the Hispanic population, but they could blow that if they don't become more pragmatic.
