I meant it more as a rhetorical question to the NeXT buyout and integration. Retrospectively, I think Jobs and the NeXT team delivered far more than than expected. Any promises made (by NeXT) that were not kept? What more was achieved than originally thought?
Recall, NeXT ran on Intel for a while among others...more history...
