I hate it when you can't understand the cabby well enough to know whether he can get you to your destination. Back when I lived in the DC suburbs, I always used to enjoy pulling out of National Airport in the cab and then telling the cabbie the directions. They hated that. Eventually, I learned the trick. The minute you get off the plane, call Red Top cab, ask for a pickup at Northwest baggage claim. By the time I got out to the curb, Red Top would be there and I'd get a ride home at a fair fare. Never bothered with the cab stand guys again.
